In July, at the WAIC, AutoX debuted its fifth-generation autonomous driving system, the AutoX Gen5, equipped with state-of-the-art auto-grade sensors, its self-developed core computing platform AutoX XCU, an autonomous driving electronic and electrical architecture, with 2,200 TOPS of computing power. The Gen5 system realizes full-stack architectural redundancy, allowing truly unmanned driving.
The factory is built for manufacturing the Gen5 RoboTaxis. Building on Fiat Chrysler Automobiles's vehicles, the two companies have co-developed an auto-grade redundant wire system. The said vehicle is also the only mass-producible driverless vehicle model in China.

Since the factory opened in July 2021, the production line has completed three rounds of design and process optimizations to churn out AutoX’s RoboTaxis with accuracy and consistency.
The production lines are equipped with advanced production technologies and systems, including ABB robots, control and transmission systems designed by Siemens, Omron, Schneider Electric, Philips, SEW, and Mitsubishi.
Notably, AutoX currently operates China’s largest service area for fully driverless RoboTaxis across 65 square miles (168 square kilometers) in Shenzhen.
