Post-Growth Living
Two years ago wildfires tore across Southern Oregon, where the PGI headquarters are based. The disaster disproportionately impacted Latinx communities, many of whom lost their homes. PGI team members Donnie and dani helped in the immediate relief effort and also facilitated the founding of an organization with the goal of community ownership of the homes being rebuilt. After fundraising $43,000, the organization’s 501(c)3 status and the money raised was given to Coalición Fortaleza which has long been involved in the collaboration, and recently confirmed the successful purchase of Southern Oregon’s first resident-owned community.

Post-Growth Entrepreneurship
This month, we published an interview with Post Growth Fellow, Djemilah Hassani, about the Social Economy in Mayotte and its role in the process of decolonization. The article was republished in Resilience and also in El-Telegraph — the most widely read Arabic newspaper in Australia.
Associate Professor of Global Development & Political Science at the University of Toronto Scarborough, Caroline Shenaz Hossein, who is also a Post Growth Fellow, subsequently shared that her class would be reading the piece as a case study.
