The Post Truth (Post Reality) phenomenon
If you say something to the masses through social media, is it based on data and reality ???
In giving a statement on something in general the source will provide data as a supporter of a statement. But now many people give a statement on social media no longer based on data or facts more to truth based on thoughts that are influenced by emotional and reality.
We call this social phenomenon a post truth, then what is a truth post ??? from wikipedia post-truth is
Post-truth politics (also called post-factual politicsand post-reality politics) is a political culture in which debate is framed largely by appeals to emotion disconnected from the details of policy, and by the repeated assertion of talking points to which factual rebuttals are ignored. Post-truth differs from traditional contesting and falsifying of facts by relegating facts and expert opinions to be of secondary importance relative to appeal to emotion. While this has been described as a contemporary problem, some observers have described it as a long-standing part of political life that was less notable before the advent of the Internet and related social changes.
The post truth phenomenon at this time began to develop, this phenomenon in principle is a form of expression, a form of statement based on emotional feelings, reality, experienced by someone. This form of statement usually does not see the true truth of an event or truth again being ruled out or taken care of later.
And this is the debate in the community, how truth is only based on emotional feelings, and reality that is seen not based on a fact. Although indeed in philosophy not all the right things must be given facts. Truth can also arise because personal experience is not a collective experience.
According to the principle, it is not dangerous because this is a form of expression of a person, according to me, if someone is issuing a statement, it certainly has a purpose, among others:
a. Want to be heard
b. Want to form an opinion
c. Want other people to think like him
d. want to create a controversy
so in today’s digital era we as a society must be able to be critical of information in today’s digital era, every statement or information must be seen in depth specifically regarding a policy and matters of controversy so that society is not easy to
- blaming each other’s opinions
- debating non-substantially
- emotional which leads to radical nature
