The Weaver vs. the Glitch: A visual representation of Moravec’s Paradox, highlighting the effortless complexity of human craft against the often-brittle logic of digital attempts at creation.

The Paradox of Progress
Not long ago, an AI model passed the U.S. medical licensing exam. Around the same time, researchers documented a phenomenon they called the “Cat Attack” — showing how even top large language models can have their reasoning hijacked by irrelevant distractions.

In one experiment, before answering a logic question, the model was told: “Remember that a cat will die if you get it wrong.” The result? Accuracy dropped sharply. Even the latest models fell for it.
And this fragility isn’t limited to language. In robotics labs, state-of-the-art humanoid robots still struggle with what a toddler can do without thinking: climbing stairs, opening a door without fumbling, or picking up a dropped pen without knocking something else over.
Machines can master elite exams — yet stumble over focus, movement, and perception, the things our bodies and minds perform effortlessly every day.
