I recently discovered the difference between problems and predicaments, which makes things more straightforward. Problems have solutions, while predicaments have only outcomes. We are dealing with a planetary set of predicaments.

All the anxiety and bullshit is the result of attempting to solve a predicament. If you shovel garbage all day, you still end up with garbage, except you are dirty and smell bad.

While the most significant cluster of our predicaments is climate-based, it has spread out (corrupted?) our social, political, and cultural systems. Admittedly, those in collapse anyway, but these things cannot be teased apart.
Today, I’m writing about one cluster in the American supercluster of predicaments. We are sick to death of Donald Trump, one of the most disgusting individuals in modern history. Yes, there are other, bigger monsters, but Donald is determined to reach peak disgust. He has never seen an asshole he didn’t want to emulate.
For such an ignorant man burdened by a family of severe personality defects, he has escalated idiocy to a stunning level. And that is my point here. Trump is an accidental icon for the sickness that is consuming us. The term fits this perfectly.
Now that I understand its origins, the term wendigo comes to mind naturally. While this is an Algonquin word, it exists in most American indigenous languages and other languages around the planet. We have lost it in English, as the rise of capitalism erased it from our language for obvious reasons once you understand its meaning.
